Dessert can be healthy.

People are under the impression that eating healthy is bland, boring and expensive, when really it is flavoursome, fun and cheap.
I don’t mean to offend anyone, but we aren’t oblivious to the fact that the world is becoming “FAT” when are we finally going to get serious?
Its not a joke anymore. We wanted rights, freedom and equality but the fact is – we are abusing them in the face of gluttony. I feel strongly about this issue because I was once trapped by the over the counter ‘healthy’ packet foods that just left a horrible taste in my mouth and a bitter number on the scale.
And fact is, there are plenty of overweight people who read my blog and are probably reading right now and they probably don’t care that their waistline is expanding. So all I can really do is hope to god they will realise this and change their lifestyle. But until then here is a really yummy healthy desert you can make in no time at all.
So you want to have some pro-biotic yogurt or Greek yogurt. None of this flavoured ‘low-fat’ stuff. Don’t let yourself be fooled by the ‘low-fat’ signs… Low fat has more sugar and sugar is also stored as fat, so basically companies are making billions and you are none the wiser (until now if you didn’t already know that).
2 table spoons of oats and 1 table spoon of honey
2 strawberries sliced
And a tea spoon of butter
Some dark chocolate shaved
So slice up half the banana and mix with about a cup of yogurt. Spoon into 2 small glasses. Smooth down and layer some sliced banana on top, then place another teaspoon of yogurt on top.
Line a baking tray with baking paper and pre-heat oven to 180c for 5 mins (convert this to Fahrenheit if you are american). Lay out oats and drizzle honey over and the teaspoon of butter. Bake 5-10 mins then set in fridge.
Once set break the caramelized oats off the baking paper and place over the top of your yogurt. Place strawberry on top and sprinkle your shaved dark chocolate. Place in the fridge until ready to serve.
This is the perfect way to have a healthy and romantic easy desert with the hubby or the missus (she will appreciate it and chocolate is an aphrodisiac ;D. )
